Welcome to the third Promo Patrol by AussieCompers.

So what is Promo Patrol all about? Quite simply, it’s about keeping our eye on the promoters and see how they perform.

Who is doing a good job and who needs to get a rocket up their behind?

That’s what I will be writing about each month. In the AussieCompers forum there are countless competitions listed and members are discussing the good, the bad and the ugly in regards to how a promotion is run.

My focus will be on who is doing a great job and who is not.

Hands up if you entered the Lowans competition! Hands up if you won the DVD pack! I wonder how many compers are still eating porridge each day for breakfast or making Anzac biscuits. I must say though the promotion was successful because despite the competition ending on 18th May my family is still buying it.  Anyway, I was lucky enough to win a DVD pack but we have seen two of the movies and have no interest in watching the Romeo and Juliet one. So I am giving them away to one lucky reader who perhaps was not as lucky to win it. The box set is NEW and has not been viewed. I will also be giving the Australia DVD away in a Frugal comp.

Am I going to be hit by lightning if I say this book is not telling us anything new? I know there is much hype about the book largely in part to the fact that Oprah gave it her seal of approval, but I found it very repetitive and basically saying the same thing in a million different ways. (Ok maybe not a million but near enough!) Eckhart himself explains that at the start of the book – that the information is all the same, it just needs to be told a million different ways for everyone to actually ‘get it’.

Comp time again folks! I can’t even remember what competition I purchased this DVD for but it was put in the cupboard never to see the light of day again – until now. It is brand new and sealed and could be on it’s way to you!

Time to spoil the kids again with another giveaway! What was that you said? Don’t the kids get spoilt enough? Well in my day…
Yeah yeah we all know that in ‘our’ day we walked to school along 10 mile dirt roads and suffered bare feet because our parents were so poor they couldn’t afford to put shoes on our feet. OK put the violins away – who remembers any of that stuff anyway and even if we could why would we want anyone else to relive it? All I remember is tuck shop, presents each birthday and Christmas and going without was like – well I wouldn’t know because as a kid I never felt like I was going without.
